CALDWELL, Idaho — Peter Kolosey, 39, was arrested in Caldwell on Thursday after fleeing from police and hiding in a crawl space for two hours.
Kolosey had been wanted by police on an outstanding Ada County warrant for felony drug possession, according to the Caldwell Police Department (CPD).
CPD stated that when Kolosey was spotted by police, he began running away from the officers, discarded a handgun in a neighbor's yard, and then hid in the crawl space of an adjacent home for two hours as negotiators attempted to persuade him to surrender.
The incident occurred June 13 at approximately 6 p.m. in the 19000 block of Kiowa Creek Way in Caldwell, where police believe he had been living.
CPD said the Caldwell Police Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and members of Operation Safe Streets are responsible for Kolosey's peaceful surrender without incident.
"Our department will never tolerate criminals who chose to make Caldwell their hideout. We stand for law and order and will continue to safeguard our community by using every resource and tool available to relentlessly pursue justice," said Rex Ingram, Caldwell's Chief of Police.
