CALDWELL, Idaho — A Caldwell woman was sentenced on Wednesday, Aug. 7, in a Canyon County Court after she was charged with five counts of aggravated Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

Canyon County officials said in a news release 29-year-old Ryann Ashley Holland was sentenced to serve ten years fixed, followed by 15 years indeterminate, for a total unified sentence of 25 years in prison.

The news release states in December 2023, Holland was arrested after she was involved in a three-vehicle crash. She was reported to have a blood alcohol content of .271, was breastfeeding her six-month-old baby, and had a two-year-old child in the back seat at the time of the accident.

It was reported the crash seriously injured one adult and four juveniles, authorities said.

Before the crash, Holland was also captured on traffic cameras driving erratically through Nampa. She eventually crashed into another vehicle near North Canyon Street and 2nd Street South in a hit-and-run incident.

Honorable Gene A. Petty sentenced Holland to prison, and also ordered Holland's driver's license to be suspended for a period of five years following her release.

"Her complete lack of regard for her children's safety and the other drivers is almost beyond belief. I'm hopeful she uses her time in prison to think about the mistakes that she made and get the help she needs," stated Prosecutor Bryan Taylor.
