BOISE, Idaho — A 36-year-old Boise woman reported missing was located safely by deputies Friday, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) said.

Susan “Akeisha” Brooks, who was last seen Wednesday, Aug. 7, was found two days later. According to CCSO, she was found in Celebration Park near Melba where she had gone missing. The office said she fell of a walking path into dense brush and couldn't get out on her own. CCSO credits UAV technology, drones, for finding her.

"We dedicated a lot of manpower and resources to locate Ms. Brooks," said Sheriff Kieran Donahue. "I'm convinced that our ability to deploy the latest UAV technology in combination with the skilled drone operators on our team is ultimately what saved this woman's life. She had been out in the elements and extreme heat for two days. Had it been any longer, I truly believe we would have had a much different and more tragic outcome. I couldn't be prouder of my team for their work in locating her. It was truly all hands on deck."

The sheriff's office  said she is being assessed and receiving medical attention.
