Car hits power pole sparking grass fire, power outage

EAGLE - Ada County Dispatch says a car struck a power pole on State Street and Edgewood Lane Saturday night, sparking a small grass fire and causing a power outage to residents and businesses nearby.

Idaho Power says the car accident damaged a wire which caused the outage. They say 1,783 residents were affected. The power went out at about 8:15 p.m. and was restored before 9 p.m.

Idaho Power was on scene until just before 9:30 p.m. repairing the line.

Dispatch says the Eagle Fire Department was also on scene to put out the small fire.

Ada County Dispatch says no one was taken to the hospital.
