IDAHO, USA — A memorial service for JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan was held in East Idaho Saturday afternoon.
The service comes nearly four years after their bodies were found on Chad Daybell's property in June of 2020. Daybell is currently on trial, accused of murder and conspiracy in the deaths of the two children.
The service was a Celebration of Life for JJ and Tylee. People lined up outside well before the service began to pay their respects.
Todd Trahan, JJ's biological father, spoke during the ceremony by calling in from prison.
"Until the day we meet again, I'm going to do what I have to do in this world to get to heaven," Trahan said during the service. "Tell everyone that is there with you hi and that I love them."
A number of friends and family members of the children spoke and shared letters during the service. JJ's grandfather spent time telling stories of helping raise JJ, and watching the boy grow up.
KIFI Local News 8 spoke with Woodcock about the day meant to honor JJ and Tylee.
"It's a day about a memorial service to two wonderful young children," Woodcock told Local News 8. "That is just, that's amazing - think about that. All these amazing people here, and every one of them, they're part of a family. They're part of a family no matter where they go in life, what they do in life. They're going to remember JJ, they're going to remember Tylee."

Tylee Ryan was 16 and JJ Vallow was seven when they were killed. Their bodies were found on their stepfather Chad Daybell's property on June 9, 2020. After several years, Lori Vallow, their mother, was sentenced to life in prison for their deaths. Chad Daybell is currently on trial for their deaths.
