TWIN FALLS COUNTY, Idaho — A child has died and two people are in the hospital after a crash on SH-50 on Sunday, April 7 at 3:20 a.m. in Twin Falls County. According to Idaho State Police (ISP), the crash happened at milepost 1.7.
ISP stated a 39-year-old woman, from Roseville, California was driving a Honda CRV, there were two passengers, a 35-year-old man from Butte, Montana, and a child in a safety seat. Police said the woman veered into the opposite lane and hit a 47-year-old man, from Twin Falls, driving a Freightliner semi-truck.
Everyone was wearing seat belts. The child died at the scene, the woman and man were taken to the hospital by air ambulance. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
ISP is investigating the accident; traffic was blocked on the highway for about six hours while crews cleared the scene.
