BOISE, Idaho — More summer road construction is coming in the Treasure Valley. The City of Caldwell on Monday announced construction at the intersection of Middleton Road and Skyway Street begins this week.
Drivers should expect road closures, lane closures, and reduced speed limits. According to a news release from the City of Caldwell, officials will try to keep Middleton Road open as long as possible.
Beginning this week, lane closures and reduced speeds will be enforced until late July. Middleton Road will then close completely in late July for construction, with the closure expected to last until late October 2024.
The City of Caldwell provided a list of improvements from the construction:
- Widening Middleton Road to five lanes from the Noble Drain to Shadow Glen Drive
- Building a dual-lane roundabout at the Middleton Road and Skyway Street intersection
- Adding new sidewalks, bike lanes, signalized pedestrian crossing, street lighting and landscaping
- Adding a raised median and U-turn opportunity between Linden Road and Skyway Street
