The Boise River Greenbelt has been a popular recreation spot for half a century.

BOISE, Idaho — The City of Boise is working on three projects that will impact greenbelt usage. The Lander Street Water Renewal Facility project, Veterans Memorial Park Pond bank stabilization project, and Wylie Lane bank stabilization project have all been in place for a few weeks now, but with the nicer weather coming to the Treasure Valley this weekend, usage of these areas is sure to increase.

Lander Street Water Renewal Facility Project:

The closure for this project started on Monday, Jan. 29 and is estimated to be closed until April 2. Because the work being done involves the path, the City of Boise is urging path users to use the detour seen below.

Veterans Memorial Park Pond Bank Stabilization Project:

The path closure started on Feb. 14 of this year, between Veterans Memorial Park Pond and the Boise River. The goal of the project is to stabilize the embankment, and involves work on the natural path. A detour around the natural path will be posted in the area, but can also be found below. They estimate an April 2024 completion.

Wylie Lane Bank Stabilization Project:

Greenbelt closure for this project started on Feb. 26 near Wylie Lane. Crews are stabilizing the riverbank in the area. Access from Wylie Lane and immediate surrounding area will be fenced off.

The detour for this project is as unique as the project itself is. The project area is one mile in each direction from the nearest bridge. Greenbelt users traveling to Veterans Memorial Park will need to detour to the south side of the Greenbelt through Garden City. The map can also be seen below.
