BOISE -- The Civil Air Patrol held a change of command ceremony Tuesday to install the new commander for the Idaho wing.
The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
Lt. Col. Frederick Thompson is replacing Col. David Guzman as the Idaho wing commander.
The wing commander has the responsibility for the nine squadrons that comprise the Idaho wing.
Thompson was promoted to the rank of colonel at the change of command ceremony.
Thompson's last assignment in the Air Force was as the vice commander of the 366th Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force Base.
