Ahead of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, College of Idaho students and the public gathered together Sunday night to celebrate and commemorate the late civil rights leader by marching along the streets of Caldwell at a solidarity candlelight march.
Some who attended used flashlights instead of candles.
The march began at the downtown plaza and ended at the Langroise Center for the Performing Arts, where music was sung, and voices were heard from people all different backgrounds
“It’s always nice being in an environment where you see a various number of beautiful faces from a various number of beautiful places to come together and celebrate one common thing,” Lindo Zondo said.
“It just goes to that point that the world can truly be a better place, especially if we all work to one common goal,” Zondo added.
The students at the College of Idaho put this event on.
They say it was a positive turnout but no word yet on how many attended.
