BOISE, Idaho — A downtown Boise building has entered a new chapter: The building formerly known as the Faces of Hope Victim Center is now called the Ada County Victim Services Center.
On Wednesday, the Ada County Board of Commissioners hosted a ribbon-cutting to unveil the new name. A news release from Ada County states that even with the new name, the building, founded in 2006, will continue to provide resources for victims of trauma and sexual abuse.
“[It's] a safe place for victims to go when they are in trauma from crime, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse," Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts said.
Bennetts said the building provides a one-stop place for victims to receive care, which will help reduce trauma. The center will provide services such as counselors to work with law enforcement, forensics teams, and rape kits.
Bennett later said the decision to change the name was made so the public would not confuse their center with other similar services.
In December 2023, Ada County evicted the Faces of Hope Foundation from the building. The organization is still in the Treasure Valley and has a new location in Meridian, and is working on securing a new building in Boise.
