BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County coroner has identified the 87-year-old woman who died after she and her husband were hit by an SUV while crossing a West Boise street last week.
Coroner Dotti Owens said in a news release that Florence Goar died from severe blunt force trauma with severe head injury. The death was ruled an accident.
Also on Wednesday, Boise police sent out a surveillance photo of a man who they say may have been a witness to the crash. The potential witness was believed to be a passenger in a blue or dark green Chevrolet Suburban.
"Detectives are hoping to speak with this person as they work to get a complete picture of the scene," police said.
Anyone who may know the man in the photo is asked to call police at (208) 377-6790.
The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on February 27 at the intersection of Milwaukee and Northview streets.
According to investigators, the driver of the SUV was making a left turn from Northview onto Milwaukee when they collided with the couple, who were in a crosswalk.
Police say Florence Goar and her 89-year-old husband were both taken to the hospital, where the woman later died.
Family members identified the man as Bob Goar, and say he suffered very serious injuries. The couple was looking forward to celebrating their 61st anniversary later this year.
Boise police are investigating the crash. At this point, no charges have been filed against the driver, who has not been identified.
