COUNCIL, Idaho — A 72-year-old man from Council died Saturday evening in a crash and police said alcohol may have been a factor. Idaho State Police (ISP) said the man was driving a 2000 Ford pickup on Council Cuprum Rd. on Nov. 2 around 5:40 p.m.
ISP said the man drove off the road, tried to overcorrect and then overturned the truck. He was wearing a seatbelt but died from his injuries at the crash site.
Police are investigating, traffic was blocked headed east on the road for six hours while crews cleared the scene. No one else was involved in the crash.
