BOISE, Idaho — On Tuesday, the College of Western Idaho (CWI) announced that through the Leading Idaho grant, they were able to buy three Tesla vehicles to "further its mission of providing top-tier educational opportunities for students," a news release said.
The Teslas will be used for hands-on training, allowing students a chance to work with electric vehicles, or EVs. The CWI said in the news release buying the three vehicles was the school's commitment to helping students in the changing automotive industry.
"Our students are the future of the automotive industry, and by providing them with access to cutting-edge technology today, we are empowering them to lead the way tomorrow," said CWI President Gordon Jones.
"Having the ability to provide these modernization and expansion grants to Idaho's career technical education programs ensures we continue to accomplish our mission of preparing Idaho's youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers," said Clay Long, State Administrator for the Idaho Division of Career and Technical Education. "We are grateful to Governor Little and the State Legislature for ongoing support and advocacy for growth of career technical education programs throughout our great state."
