CWI to offer bachelor's degree option

CWI's Board of Trustees unanimously approved a plan of CWI offering a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business Administration as soon as fall of 2024.

NAMPA, Idaho — College of Western Idaho (CWI) plans to offer a bachelor's degree pathway in the field of business, as soon as fall of 2024, a news release stated.

On Nov. 9, CWI's Board of Trustees unanimously approved CWI offering a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Business Administration in Fall of 2024, pending approval from the Idaho State Board of Education, the release stated.

"Offering a BAS in Business Administration at CWI would be a great opportunity for our college and the community to meet the workforce needs of the Treasure Valley," said Board Chair, Molly Lenty.

According to CWI, the goal of the BAS degree plans would be to offer students, especially adult learners and Career Technical Education graduates, an affordable and convenient option for continuing their education, stated the news release. Students could then use the degree to pursue thousands of business-related job openings in the area that require a bachelor's degree.

"This effort underscores CWI's commitment to providing accessible, quality education that meets the needs of our students and the Treasure Valley," said CWI President Gordon Jones
