EAGLE -- A 71-year-old Eagle woman has died hours after she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle in Eagle Monday morning.
The collision happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Edgewood Lane near Iron Eagle Drive.
According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office, the cyclist was riding across Edgewood from east to west when she was hit by a southbound Subaru. Investigators are still working to determine whether the woman was in the crosswalk, and if the crosswalk's light was engaged when she was hit.
The woman was seriously injured in the collision. Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she died from her injuries just before noon. The Ada County coroner identified her as Joann Baker.

Baker was wearing a helmet when she was hit, officials say. The discarded helmet, a pair of eyeglasses, and her mangled pink bicycle lay along the road after the crash.
The driver of the car remained on scene after the crash. She has not been cited or charged with a crime.
Eagle Police Sgt. Alan Olsen said officers are still working to piece together what happened.
"We have our reconstruction team on scene as well as detectives and support staff, and we're in the middle of our investigation right now," he said.
