Deli Days: Food, music and Jewish culture

While this is the 31st year for Deli Days, it is also a year for firsts: It is the first time the event is being held outdoors, and the first time for hot food in addition to deli cold cuts.

BOISE - The 31st annual Deli Days kicked off Thursday at the Ahavath Beth Israel synagogue in Boise.

While this is the 31st year for the event, it is also a year for firsts: It is the first time the event is being held outdoors, and the first time for hot food in addition to deli cold cuts.

The two-day event features food brought in from the Bronx, New York, music and synagogue tours all put on by members of Boise's Jewish community.

"We get a lot of people, definitely not just the Jewish community but the whole community which is sort of the point of the event, that this is the day we bring people in, we give them tours of our beautiful synagogue which is just a treasure, a beautiful old building from 1895," Amy Duque, event chair, said.

If you missed it Thursday, Deli Days runs Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
