Dog rescued from Boise apartment fire

Boise Fire says the dog is fine and there were no injuries but several people are displaced.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Fire Department (BFD) rescued a dog from a three-story apartment fire in Boise. The dog is fine and has been reunited with their owner and there were no injuries but several people are displaced.

According to BFD, the department got a call on June 3 around 1 p.m.about a three-story apartment fire on N Allumbaugh St. on the 320 block. 

"Engine 6 was first on scene to find flames and smoke coming from the back of the apartments on the second and third floors. Firefighters made entry into the apartments and coordinated fire attack, while conducting search and rescue operations," said the department on social media.

No one was inside and crews rescued the dog from a second story apartment. Crews are still at the scene to ensure the fire is completely out.

"Three apartments received extensive fire and smoke damage. There are several people displaced from the fire. The Local 149 Burnout Fund, TIPS, and the Red Cross are assisting them with any immediate needs," stated the post.

In total six fire engines responded. The cause is under investigation.
