"As a result of an air search, Boise County Sheriff's Office reported seeing a body in the Payette River near the Montour Bridge.  Boise County Sheriff's Office together with the Gem County Sheriff's Office and Ada County Sheriff's Office dive team responded.   The body of Daniel Frandson, the 24-year-old swimmer who went into the water on May 31, 2024, near the train bridge in Horseshoe Bend, was recovered.  The matter is under the direction of the Boise County Sheriff's Office," stated a news release.

As KTVB previously reported, three people have lost their lives in Boise County rivers this year. Sheriff Scott Turner said people need to use caution at this time in rivers and have safety equipment.

On May 31 when Frandson and his friend were jumping in the Payette River at Horseshoe Bend from rocks and off a bridge when the current became too much for them. One was able to swim to shore and get help, leading to Frandson's recovery several days later.

"I would warn folks that are seeking to recreate on the rivers to use caution. Water levels and flows are still up. The current is moving faster than it appears. Safety equipment such as life preservers are essential when recreating,' Sheriff Turner told KTVB.
