BOISE, Idaho — On Sept. 6, Elmore County Dispatch received a call for a report of an attempted suicide in the Tipanuk area, Elmore County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Elmore County Ambulance Services and Elmore County deputies responded to the house, finding one adult male who was later pronounced dead. With initial investigation, deputies determined that evidence indicated the man's death was suspicious, police said.

Deputies called in more resources to assist with the investigation. Idaho State Police, Idaho State Police Crime Scene Unit, and Elmore County detectives responded to investigate further.

The cause of death for the man was determined to be homicide, Elmore County Sheriff's Office reports. After gathering evidence from the scene, an arrest was made. 56-year-old Mickey Michelle Romero was taken into Elmore County Jail on a murder in the second degree charge.

The identity of the man who died will not be released at this time, out of respect for the family, Elmore County Sheriff's Office said.
