EMMETT, Idaho — Five Marines were killed in a tragic helicopter crash in California on Feb. 6, after stormy weather created problems during a routine training mission from Nevada to San Diego. Among the fallen was Captain Ben Moulton, 27, from Emmett, Idaho.
Capt. Ben Moulton will receive a final welcome home on Thursday, Feb. 22, as Moulton's body is returned to his home state of Idaho.
Emmett School District made the announcement Tuesday and is inviting the public to line the streets for Capt. Moulton's homecoming in honor of his military service.
On Thursday, Feb. 22, before 4:30 p.m., Emmett residents and community members are asked to line the streets from Washington Avenue to Main Street, with the line ending at City Park.
Capt. Moulton was a graduate of Emmett High School in 2015 and the district said he's "one of our own."
"We would love to see people of all ages along Washington and Main, showing our appreciation by honoring Ben and his sacrifice as our community gives Captain Ben Moulton the homecoming he deserves," the Emmett School District stated in a Facebook post.
