Family displaced after house fire in Snake River Canyon

The Twin Falls Fire Department said nobody was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — A family is displaced after a fire broke out at their home on Falls View Drive in the Snake River Canyon near the power plant. 

According to Eric Schmitz, Twin Falls Fire Department battalion chief, Jerome Rural Fire Department called them for additional help around 11:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. 

The department said the fire was contained at 12:30 p.m., and crews stayed until 5 p.m. 

Schmitz said nobody was injured. 

The Twin Falls Fire Department, Jerome Rural Fire Department, Jerome Fire Department, and Rock Creek Fire District assisted in putting out the fire. A fire investigator is investigating what caused the fire.
