MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man has died after a roll-over crash in Meridian. Police said the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the intersection of S. Meridian Rd. and W. Calderwood St. The Ada County Coroner said 28-year-old Braxton Steinburg from Meridian died in the crash.
The coroner also stated that Steinburg was the only occupant in the car and further information will come following an investigation.
The Meridian Police Department (MPD) stated that officers found a white Toyota Prius and a white utility truck that had crashed. The driver of the Prius, Steinburg, died at the scene. The driver of the utility vehicle, an 18-year-old man, had non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the hospital via ambulance.
MPD said the crash caused road closures at S. Meridian Rd. between Overland Rd. and E. Rosalyn Dr., leading to heavy traffic following the crash where roads were backed up for extensive amounts of time. The Meridian Police Department is investigating.
