MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man has died after a roll-over crash in Meridian. Police said the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the intersection of S. Meridian Rd. and W. Calderwood St.
The Meridian Police Department (MPD) stated that officers found a white Toyota Prius and a white utility truck that had crashed. The driver of the Prius, a 28-year-old man, died at the scene. The driver of the utility vehicle, an 18-year-old man, had non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the hospital via ambulance.
"Upon the arrival of first responders, immediate life saving measures were undertaken but it was apparent that the 28-year-old male driver of the Prius had suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash," a news release stated.
MPD said the crash caused road closures at S. Meridian Rd. between Overland Rd. and E. Rosalyn Dr., leading to heavy traffic following the crash where roads were backed up for extensive amounts of time. The Meridian Police Department is investigating.
