Idaho Foodbank partners with Albertsons for holiday giving campaign

For the past 18 years, Albertsons has campaigned with store employees and customers to provide food and funds for the Idaho Foodbank during the holidays.

BOISE, Idaho — The holiday season is upon us, and it's also the season of giving. The Idaho Foodbank is partnering with Albertsons again this year for the Feed Joy campaign.

Through the campaign so far, customers and employees at 11 Albertsons stores have donated $150,000 to provide food for holiday meals to Idahoans that are in need, according to the Idaho Foodbank's website.

On Tuesday, the Idaho Foodbank and Albertsons came together to celebrate the "impact of the Feed Joy campaign and the Nourishing Neighbors grant."

For the past 18 years, Albertsons has campaigned with store employees and customers to provide food and funds for the Idaho Foodbank to help those who may be food insecure have a holiday meal.

“Our customers and hard-working associates show such generosity through these holiday campaigns,” said John Colgrove, the division president at Albertsons Companies Intermountain Division. “Albertsons is committed to our longstanding partnership and support for the Idaho Foodbank to provide hunger relief to those in need.”

As part of the Nourishing Neighbor program, which helps support the needs of Idaho children facing food security issues, Albertsons has awarded grant funds to the Idaho Foodbank to help provide breakfast foods for children in need. The grant was $10,000.

“We appreciate the year-round support of Albertsons and their employees to help Idahoans who are struggling to make ends meet,” said Randy Ford, the president and CEO of the Idaho Foodbank. "We are incredibly thankful for our partnership with Albertsons as we work together to solve hunger in Idaho.”

At Tuesday's event, Colgrove and Ford made remarks and Albertsons employees then volunteered at the Idaho Foodbank.
