BOISE, Idaho — Late winter snow in the Treasure Valley allowed for a few ski resorts to remain open into April for the winter 2024 season; and although all good things must come to an end, skiers and boarders get one last "full send."
Unlike snowfall totals, KTVB 'accumulated' a list of resorts still open to skiers and boarders for one last shred-sesh on the mountain!
SATURDAY, APRIL 20
- Silver Mountain (Kellogg, ID)
- Silver Mountain's is celebrating its last day of the 2023-24 winter ski season, with deals, according to the website.
- Lift tickets will cost only $49 each with chairs 1 and 2 open normal hours.
- The resort is selling its rental skis and snowboards for only $50, available in Silver Mountain Sports Shop.
SUNDAY, APRIL 21
- Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area (Boise, ID)
- Bogus reopens for a final hoorah weekend of festivities.
- There will be live music and their popular annual pond skim, in which skiers and boarders ski down the mountain at high speeds toward a small pond in an attempt to cross it. Registration is as 8:30 a.m.
- Brundage Mountain Resort (McCall, ID)
- Brundage is celebrating its final weekend of skiing with 'Rail Jam' event on Saturday, April 20.
- Rail Jam is at 11 a.m., open to all ages and abilities, and is free to enter.
- Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area (Mullan, ID)
- Lookout Pass has a deal running for its final weekend for 2023-24 season pass holders from any mountain:
- FRI & SAT - Show season pass, get 1/2 price Lift Ticket.
- SUNDAY - Tickets will cost $35 per Adult and $20 per Youth & Senior citizens.
- Grand Targhee Resort (Alta, WY)
- The resort said on its website that it's hosting its alpine Pond Skim on Saturday, April 20, where skiers and riders throw skip, slide and swim across the ice-cold pond near the Targhee base area.
- Also on Saturday, there will be live music at The Trap, featuring Chan Man Band from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sun Valley Resort (Sun Valley, ID)
- 'Baldy Bonus Week' on Bald Mountain: According to the resort's website, guests can purchase lift tickets online ahead of time for an exclusive discounted pricing.
“Winter 2023-24 stands out as one of the most rewarding and satisfying seasons of my career," said Bogus Basin general manager Brad Wilson.
