BOISE - Boise's fire chief is talking about what went right in the response to last summer's Oregon Trail Heights fire -- and what might help the response if something like that happens again.
The fire destroyed 10 homes, and claimed the life of one woman on August 25, 2008.
Chief Dennis Doan told the Boise City Council that firefighters displayed the highest standards of training that night.
He also said that a review shows the city needs a command vehicle for a large incident like that fire.
Doan is looking for a grant to pay for that vehicle.
Doan also wants improved communication between firefighters, EMS and police. Since the fire, many committees have looked into ways to reduce fire dangers.
