BOISE, Idaho — Multiple fire agencies are battling a brush fire burning in Southeast Boise on Wednesday.
First responders told KTVB they first heard reports around 2:15 p.m. The Boise Fire District BLM is leading the response to the Leeds Fire and burning east of east of Micron near Columbia Road and Golden Eagle Lane.
Dispatch told KTVB, "Homes are still threatened but are making good progress."
Boise Fire Department said at 4:45 p.m. that Columbia Road is now open for local traffic only after being closed for the fire.
At 4:21 p.m., a BLM spokesperson told KTVB that the Leeds Fire had burned approximately 200 acres.
BLM said fire crews are on the scene and working to contain the spread.
"While temperatures may be dropping, with the little moisture we’ve received this month fuels are still dry. We encourage that you be mindful and recreate responsibly on public land," BLM said in a news release.
This is a developing story, and we will update when information becomes available.
