Fire officials report full containment, control of Leeds Fire in Boise

Crews worked quickly, and by Thursday morning, the fire was contained.

BOISE, Idaho — Multiple fire agencies are working to put out a brush fire burning in Southeast Boise on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

On Oct. 31, at roughly 9 a.m., the fire has burned 354.9 acres, with an estimated control of 12 p.m. on the 31st. The fire is considered contained at this time.

Fire officials told KTVB the fire was human-caused and is still under investigation.

At 5:44 p.m., the Bureau of Land Management announced that fire crews would remain on the scene and would be mopping up and securing containment lines of the Leeds Fire, which is burning east of Micron near Columbia Road and Golden Eagle Lane.

First responders told KTVB they first heard reports around 2:15 p.m. The Boise Fire District BLM is leading the response to the Leeds Fire.

Boise Fire Department said at 4:45 p.m. that Columbia Road is now open for local traffic only after being previously closed due to the fire.

"While temperatures may be dropping, with the little moisture we’ve received this month fuels are still dry. We encourage that you be mindful and recreate responsibly on public land," BLM said in a news release.
