Fireworks spark house fire in Hayden

Improper use of illegal fireworks caused a house fire in Hayden on the Fourth of July.

HAYDEN LAKE, Idaho — The Northern Lakes Fire Department responded to a call about a house fire on Thursday, July 4.

Fire crews say that an illegal aerial firework that was launched in front of the house was the cause of the fire.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire and there are no reported injuries.

When crews arrived, they found neighbors trying to put out the fire with garden hoses.

Currently, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s office is working to determine if there will be any criminal charges.
