TWIN FALLS -- A former 5th District Court magistrate judge has been sentenced to 160 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence.
The Times-News reports Nicole Cannon pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday for excessive DUI. She was fined $1,278.50, ordered to attend 16 hours of alcohol/DUI education classes.
Cannon was charged in April after she was stopped by a Boise police officer. Two tests found her blood-alcohol level to be 0.239 and 0.221, nearly three times the limit at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.
Cannon resigned her judgeship in late June.
The community service was ordered in lieu of 20 days in jail.
