An update on a fundraiser for a Meridian police officer who was shot in the line of duty.
A "fill the bucket" event at The Village at Meridian on Saturday raised more than $15,000.
Officer Kyle Mikowski was shot in the legs by a suspect during a foot pursuit last month. He is on the mend but his injuries have prevented him from working on his ranch like he used to.
So on Saturday, The Village at Meridian and the Meridian Police Department held a fundraiser for Mikowski and his family.
The goal was to raise enough money to buy the family a tractor that has special modifications so Mikowski can operate it.
Officials say the $15,000 raised, plus a $10,000 donation from Kubota Tractor Corporation, is more than enough to purchase the tractor.
