GARDEN CITY, Idaho -- Some new Garden City patrol cars debuted with a new look Friday.
The cars haven't been changed in more than 20 years.
The police department recently purchased three blue cars, and those are the ones that showed off the new vinyl.
The idea to rebrand the cars came from city council member Jeff Souza..
"It's part of our branding. We want these cars to be highly recognizable and visible not only to our residents but everybody who commutes and travels through our city," said Souza. "We want the folks to know and recognize those are Garden City police cars."
Souza says each year the department will continue to replace a few of the patrol cars until they all have that new look.
