NAMPA -- The Nampa School District's budget shortfall is now affecting high school graduation.
NewsChannel 7 confirmed that Skyview, Columbia, and Nampa high schools will all hold their graduation ceremonies this year at their schools. District spokesperson Allison Westfall tells us the past few years, the schools have held graduation at the Idaho Center.
Westfall says each school pays $4,000 to hold graduation at the Idaho Center, so the district will be saving $12,000.
Westfall says they informed parents and students of the change on Friday. She says the plan is for each school to hold graduation at their football field outside. She says they are still working on exactly where inside the ceremonies would be held in case of rain.
As for attendance, Westfall says they are still looking into the possibility of tickets, and exactly how many people will be able to attend each ceremony.
We're told the graduation dates will stay the same for each school.
