Man arrested for arson following Polecat Fire in Boise

On Monday, June 24, a man was arrested in connection with the fire. Bryan Grensing, 51, was arrested on arson charges, according to BPD.

BOISE, Idaho — On Monday, June 24, a Boise man was arrested in connection with the fire. Bryan Grensing, 51, was arrested on arson charges, according to the Boise Police Department (BPD). 

The fire scorched 36 acres before being put out. The fire was stopped before any injuries or home damage was done. 

After the fire was put out, an investigation began. During the investigation, officials determined the fire to be arson, and a video from the area led police to find Grensing. He was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail. 

According to BPD, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

Boise Parks and Recreation and Ridge to Rivers announced Monday that the trails within Polecat Reserve are back open, but advise not to venture off the trails.
