TWIN FALLS -- A man who was trapped on a cliff face beneath the Perrine Bridge Tuesday evening is safe.

The Twin Falls Sheriff's Office originally told KTVB the man was a BASE jumper. Later, officials said that was incorrect, and that he was a hiker.

Kayakers in the area heard someone screaming for help, and called 911 at about 7 p.m. Rescue crews and a rappel team were able to reach the man just before 11 p.m.

The man was not hurt, dispatchers say. His name has not been released.

The rescue attempts blocked traffic on the bridge in both directions Tuesday evening.
