Meridian hit and run victim and police looking for driver who hit him

The incident happened on early Saturday morning, near Overland Road and Locust Grove Road.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Meridian police are searching for a suspect who was involved in a hit-and-run crash last week.

At roughly 12:45 am on Saturday, Dec. 16, a Meridian man was hit by another driver, who drove away from the scene. Meridian police said in a press release, they are currently looking for the truck.

Meridian Police Department (MPD) responded to an alleged hit-and-run near Overland Road and South Millennium Way. The Meridian man was turning onto Overland Road on his way home from work when he was struck by another vehicle.

Someone who called in to report the incident reports that the vehicle that hit the man was driving an early 2000's red Dodge Ram truck with a toolbox in the bed. The truck left behind their bumper, the victim said. MPD states the truck should have front-end damage from the collision.

The victim was treated at the scene and released.

MPD is looking for any information about the identity of the driver in the red truck. If you have information regarding this incident, please call Meridian Police at their non-emergency line 208-888-6678.
