BOISE, Idaho — The honoring in memory of the Nampa Police Department's fallen K-9 Riddick is stretching far and wide – making its way to Honolulu, Hawaii.

On Wednesday at 10 p.m. MT, a young runner named Raiden will begin his mile run from the Honolulu Police Academy, carrying a flag honoring Riddick. Once he is done with the run, the flag will be sent to Riddick's handler, officer Cody Huss.

Raiden was selected by Running 4 Heroes, which started in 2019 and hosts runs across the United States honoring fallen first responders. Other runs will be done on Wednesday.

Riddick died in the line of duty on Saturday, Sept. 21. Hundreds gathered on Tuesday at the Idaho K-9 Memorial on the grounds of the Idaho Peace Officers' Memorial to honor K-9 Riddick's life, and show their support to the Nampa Police Department.

Nampa PD said Wednesday's runners welcome the world to run with them to show your support.

"We’d love you to send a photo of yourself during the run, so we can share them with Officer Huss and let him know we will Never Forget," police said in a news release.
