PRAIRIE, Idaho — Every year, Idaho's wildfire season is filled with fires, smoke and the courageous people who put their lives on the line to keep the rest of us safe. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) said "fallen firefighters are never forgotten."
On September 17, 2013, BLM National Great Basin Smokejumper Mark Urban died in a smoke jumping accident near Prairie, Idaho.
Urban had served as a firefighter for 11 years.
"His positive impact on the Great Basin Smokejumper program continues to inspire firefighters today, " stated BLM.
