IDAHO FALLS -- Police in eastern Idaho say a horse was killed in a collision with a vehicle on Highway 31, and its owner has been found.
Idaho State Police said it happened around 11 p.m. Thursday at milepost 6.5 near North Pine Creek.
Police say 43-year-old Natalie Allison of Lehi, Utah, was driving north on the highway in her 2010 Jeep Wrangler when she struck and killed the horse that was loose on the highway.
The horse is described as dark brown in color, with a black mane, wearing a turquoise blue halter.
Friday morning, police asked for the public's help in locating the horse's owner. By late this afternoon, police had identified the owner and thanked the public for their help.
