BOISE - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 have reopened east of Boise after a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported near the Blacks Creek exit just before 4 p.m. Idaho State Police said 47-year-old Barry Frank, of Boise, was riding east on a BMW motorcycle when he left the lane and hit a guardrail. The motorcycle then came back onto the road where it overturned.

Frank was taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He remained in critical condition Thursday morning.

Both eastbound lanes were blocked for about two-and-a-half hours while police worked to clear the scene. Traffic was diverted around the crash until the road reopened early Wednesday evening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
