BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Humane Society (IHS) is set to receive 30 dogs rescued from several hoarding situations in the Coachella Valley, California. The rescued pups will be available for adoption.

IHS said on Friday, it responded to a call for assistance from a shelter in Riverside, California, after officials removed over 120 dogs from three homes that were hoarding the dogs. Several of the dogs were dead at the homes.

However, in an effort to fulfill its mission of "saving lives," IHS will be taking 30 dogs in.

"Since January 1st, we have transferred nearly 600 pets to our shelter from local rescues and shelters to prevent unnecessary euthanasia, Kristine Schellhaas, IHS's PIO said. "We are happy we could assist in these dogs' journey from Riverside to new adoptive homes here in the Treasure Valley."

IHS said the dogs will be "given a second chance at life in Idaho."

The dogs will be flown in by airplane on Friday by the Wings of Rescue team.

"Our success transporting pets to new homes has everything to do with terrific partners on the ground," said Ric Browde, CEO of Wings of Rescue. That the kind team at Idaho Humane Society stepped up to take some of the dogs on this flight is an indication of the best in shelter cooperation. We know that these dogs will end up getting great homes, that there is open kennel space for them and that no local pets will be displaced by their arrival — a true win-win for everyone involved."

IHS said the dogs would be taken to the Utah Humane Society, the Idaho Humane Society and the Cache Humane Society.
