Idaho representatives take the stage at Miss Amazing Nationals in Chicago

Miss Amazing is a self esteem movement, meant to empower girls and young women with disabilities.
Dozens of girls and young women took to the stage at the Nampa Civic Center Saturday night for the grand finale of this year's Idaho Miss Amazing pageant.

BOISE, Idaho — Miss Amazing breaks the barriers behind the stigma that girls with disabilities are not confident individuals, and cannot take risks

Five Idaho representatives radiated their confidence at this year's Miss Amazing Nationals in Chicago. These young women represented various categories such as the Passion Presentation showcase, evening wear, personal introductions, and participating in interviews. 

The five young women of  that represented events are:

  • Alayna Peterson, Idaho Pre Teen
  • Elizabeth Mendoza Hernandez, Idaho Jr. Teen
  • Mya Stokes, Idaho Teen
  • Kristina Murphy, Idaho Sr. Miss
  • Addy Nutt, Idaho Mentor

Dotty Hancock, the State of Idaho's director was also honored with the Above and Beyond Award as this years event.  This award represents an individual who "demonstrates exceptional commitment and dedication to the Miss Amazing mission."

"The Miss Amazing experience is truly transformative, and seeing the joy and confidence in our participants is the most rewarding part. Receiving the Above and Beyond Award is an incredible honor, and I am grateful for the support of our community in making this possible," stated Hancock.

Idaho's Miss Amazing chapter is holding their annual Amplify event on October 11 and 12, 2024.  Miss Amplify is a local event to empower young girls age five and over to advocate for themselves.
