The Holiday’s mean baking for your loved ones. There’s no reason that cannot include your furry family members! But some online recipes for dog treats may actually be harmful for your beloved pooch. Dr. Jenny Norman from Ada Animal Hospital warns pet owners to avoid recipes that are high in sugar and strongly encourages complete avoidance of any products that use a sweetener called xylitol, which she says can be very dangerous for your pets. Dr. Norman also suggested that pet owners avoid making pet treats that contain high amounts of fat. She said to steer clear of recipes that include butter and oils that can upset your pets gut. In addition to sharing information about what your pets should not eat, Dr. Jenny Norman joined Idaho Today’s Mellisa Paul to also share a simple, safe and pet approved (Rocco the pug and Idaho Today Pet Perspective’s mascot LOVES these dog cookies. He ate about five of them while on set), recipe for Pumpkin Peanut Butter Biscuits! (
