From Kuna to Kenya: Fremont Middle School wants to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes

We learn about "The Shoe That Grows" program

Without shoes, children are especially vulnerable to diseases, parasites and injury. And since their feet grow so quickly, kids often outgrow donated shoes within a year.

"The Shoe That Grows" program from Because International provides durable and adjustable shoes to children in poverty-impacted areas. (Shoes expand five sizes and lasts for years.) Fremont Middle School in Kuna has a goal to send 1,000 pairs of shoes to kids in Kenya.

"Our 7th graders get a perspective of global issues," says Timothy Jensen, principal of Fremont Middle School. "It helps them build a sense of compassion."
