The New Voice Festival is making it’s United States premiere in Boise, Idaho this June. International Opera Singer and Master Vocal Coach, Andrea Delgiudice, has been running the program in Italy for the past 15 years and is now bringing it state side. The gem state has lucked-out as the landing location for this premier opportunity for local vocalists to not only workshop their craft, but also perform in a professional setting. In partnership with Opera Idaho and other local arts programs, the audition based festival will allow singers to hon their craft under the tutelage of Delgiudice and culminate in a performance at Boise’s Egyptian Theater. This is a rare occasion, as students and professional singers would typically have to live in either New York…or Italy to work with Delguidice. Many of her students perform nationally and internationally at venues like the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Paris Opera and more. Elliot Prestwich of The Eqyptian Theater says calls Delgiudice ‘the voice whisperer.’ To learn more about this rare opportunity watch the conversation and performance with Mellisa Paul on Idaho Today.
