Neighbor Idaho is a local non-profit organization that’s goal is to show every displaced man, woman and child in our community that they are seen and loved. Founder Daniel Thomas says that his own personal experience helping the homeless inspired him to create a movement to acknowledge the need in the Treasure Valley. Thomas says that data shows the most common concern of homeless people are ‘feeling invisible.’ Neighbor Idaho aims to not only provide these members of our community with essential items, but to also encourage those who reach-out to them to strike-up a conversation and get to know them as people. Thomas says that what we learn about them, their journey and their desires might surprise us. Plus, he says ‘everyone deserves to feel heard.’ Daniel Thomas sat down with Idaho Today’s Mellisa Paul to explain further in this edition of ‘Community Corner.’
