Erika Rader, an assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Spatial Sciences at University of Idaho, studies landscapes and volcanoes here on Earth that mimic what we can find on Mars. She also studies microbes that thrive under unhospitable conditions, which may tell us more about potential life on Mars.
The Idaho Today team headed to University of Idaho in Moscow to learn more.
One of Rader's post docs, Ian T.W. Flynn, just discovered a spatter cone on Mars that looks a lot like the ones we have on Earth. See that story here.
