BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking public feedback on its draft outlining the state's transportation priorities and investment decisions through 2031.
ITD recently released its draft Idaho Transportation Investment Program (ITIP), which includes projects ranging from large-scale improvements to Gem State interstates, to smaller upgrades such as new guardrails.
All modes of transportation and each of the state's 44 counties have projects in the ITIP. The public is asked to review ITD's draft and provide comments between July 1 and July 31.
The Idaho Transportation Department this week said the draft ITIP features plans for $6.9 billion in funding. It also dedicates $200 million to pavements and $100 million to bridges each year.
An interactive map showcasing projects in the seven-year plan can be viewed by clicking here. ITD's website said the mapped projects are "based on data we collect, like crash data, and input from people like you."
Planning staff will use comments submitted in July for potential changes before the plan is formally approved this fall by the Idaho Transportation Board. Upon board approval in September, the ITIP will be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration and Environmental Protection Agency in October.
Comments can be submitted through a portal on ITD's program funding page. Officials said comments can also be emailed to itipcomments@itd.idaho.gov, recorded at 208-334-8063 or mailed using the information below:
