BOISE, Idaho — The 2024 Idaho Veterans Parade takes place Saturday, Nov. 2, kicking off in downtown Boise at 10 a.m. on W. Jefferson Street in front of the Idaho State Capitol. The parade route will continue on N. 4th Street and conclude at W. Bannock and 10th Streets.

This year, the Grand Marshall is Major General Michael J. Garshak, the retiring Adjutant General of Idaho and the Commanding General of the Idaho National Guard.

Garshak was initially appointed Adjutant General in November 2017 by former governor Butch Otter. Then, he was appointed again in 2019, by current governor Brad Little.

"Our Idaho Veterans celebration event is an especially important opportunity for our community to publicly express our continuing gratitude for all veterans from all military branches of service who have worn the uniform and stood the watch to protect our great nation. The parade also provides us a reminder of the continuing sacrifice and dedication of all military members serving across the world today," said the Idaho Veterans Parade website.

This year's parade marks the 20th anniversary of the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team deployment to Iraq.

KTVB is a proud sponsor and will provide live coverage Saturday morning on KTVB Channel 7.1, KTVB.COM, and on the KTVB+ streaming app.
