The Ketchum, Idaho house where Ernest Hemingway wrote his last works has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

ID=31581665BOISE - The Idaho house where Ernest Hemingway wrote his last works before killing himself in the main entryway in 1961 has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Nature Conservancy owns the two-story, 2,500-square-foot house in the central Idaho resort town of Ketchum and announced the listing Tuesday.

Hemingway experts say the famed author worked on "A Moveable Feast" and "The Dangerous Summer" at the house before killing himself with a shotgun.

The National Park Service says the Ernest and Mary Hemingway House obtained the listing because of its association with literature.

Mary Hemingway gave the house to The Nature Conservancy after her death in 1986.

Because of zoning restrictions, the conservation group says visits to the house are by invitation only.
