BOISE — Idahoans will see some savings when they purchase their Christmas tree this holiday season.
According to a report by the Chamber of Commerce, Idaho pays 25 percent less than most states do for a real, six-foot tree.
The average price for a tree is $45 in Idaho, ranked seventh lowest in the nation.
The national average is $59 for a tree. North Dakota has the lowest price of $33, while New York pays the most, with the average price of $90.
Surrounding states also pay more than the national average. Montana's average price is $63, Utah pays $72 and Washington pays $68.
Oregon was the top tree producing state in the country, but still paid more than Idaho, with the average price of $64
The report by the Chamber of Commerce surveyed and gathered data on the most popular types of trees that were bought and broke the price down by foot and calculated the average price for a six-foot tree.
